Low cost cures A few days ago I was in Bamako, Mali. This gave me a chance to meet Charles Bailleul, a friend of SEDELAN and an expert on the bambara language (web site : Bamanan). He was putting a final touch to his last book on medicinal plants of West Africa. Today we bring the good news :
A book on the Pharmacopeia : “The medicinal wealth of Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Togo …” based on the contents of Marcel Forgues’ booklet and now published by the Donniya editing house in Mali.
It describes 128 plants in the Sahel, Sudan and Guinee region, with colour pictures and a large number of long known recipes for cures of numerous conditions at low cost. The official price is 10 000 CFA francs per copy.
It was precisely from the source of Marcel Fourgues’ book that we published around 40 different plants and 60 recepes on this site some years ago. We can now enrich this collection with the photograps offered by Charles Bailleul on my recent visit in Bamako. Health is invaluable. Why not offer, a friend, or yourself, a copy of this fine and beautifully illustrated book? It is available in Mali of course, but now also in Ouagadougou.
