| To put our foot in our mouth - or the hidden face of our eating habits | In this issue we wish to welcome the publication of a third book from the young publishing house elka. Its title is "Les pieds dans le plat" (to make a fool of oneself*). The editors, Karine Sabatier and Loïc Hamon are in this case also the authors. We are pleased to have a part in the second half of the book, which is set in Burkina Faso. "With a notebook stuck under his arm, Teméo, citizen of the realm of grasslands, sets out to investigate the contents of what we put on our plates. From the town of Camembert in France to Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, he sets out and see those who feed humankind since the dawn of our existence - the farmers. During his full immersion in the daily lives of the Fulani tribes of stock keepers in Burkina Faso and his encounters with committed men and women, determined to put an end to starvation in the world, Timéo discovers the hidden truth of food production. A corrosive adventure, reported live, which forces us to question the way we produce and consume and shows that all and each one of us have the capacity to change the face of the earth ... By lifting our face just a little bit above the tip of our fork and plate, we can take action (See page 4)." This is a book for the young. From 9 to 99 years! Moreover we wish to salute the aspirations of these young editors: to create awareness of sustainable development among the young. In their own words: "We are convinced that sustainable development is the only form of viable and everlasting way forward for us all, the world, the planet and future generations. Therefore we have decided to deal with it in a simple and attractive form, but in the most fair and just way possible."
